Where Surrey meets Berkshire
Although my practice is officially in Berkshire, Sandhurst sits right on the Surrey border, in the Blackwater Valley where three counties meet. For people in the north-west corner of Surrey, that means in-person counselling can be closer than many options within the county itself.
I share the full address of my practice when your first session is booked, so you can plan your journey with confidence.
Surrey towns a short drive away
If you live in either of these towns, in-person sessions are well within reach. Each page explains a little more about travelling here and what people from that area might bring to counselling:
- Camberley, about 4 miles and around 10 minutes away
- Frimley, about 5 miles and around 12 minutes away
Nearby villages in the Surrey Heath area are often similarly close, depending on where you start.
If you are not sure whether in-person sessions are realistic for you, it can help to think about the time of day you would want to come, and whether a regular journey would feel like a welcome pause or an extra strain. There is no wrong answer, and we can talk it through together.
Online sessions anywhere in Surrey
Surrey is a large county, and for many people, from Guildford and Woking to Epsom, Reigate and beyond, a trip to Sandhurst would add too much to an already busy week. Online counselling by Zoom removes that barrier. You can talk from home, or from any private space where you feel at ease.
Some people find that online work feels more natural than they expected, and research suggests it can be as effective as meeting in person.
All you need is a quiet room where you will not be overheard, a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera. I send a Zoom link before each session.
Life in Surrey, and what people bring
Surrey is as varied as its people. You might be commuting and feeling the strain of long days, working in healthcare or another caring role, or part of a military family, perhaps around Camberley. You might be a parent, a carer or someone in midlife who feels the ground shifting beneath them. All are welcome.
Whatever your circumstances, you are welcome to bring what is on your mind, whether that is anxiety, difficult past experiences, grief, stress or a relationship that has lost its way.
A blend of approaches
I am an integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor and coach with over 20 years’ experience. My approach, the Heart Mind Body Solution, blends traditional psychotherapy with neuroscience-based coaching and mind–body awareness. I also work with couples using methods such as Imago Dialogue, Gottman methods and Emotionally Focused Therapy techniques.
What happens after you get in touch
Once you enquire, I arrange a free phone chat. If we agree to go ahead, we book your first session, where we talk about what has brought you and how we will work together. Some people commit to six sessions and then review; many work open-ended.
Individual sessions are 50 minutes and cost £120. Couples sessions are £140 for 50 minutes or £175 for 75 minutes. Payment is by bank transfer before each session, and full details are on my prices page.
Support for Surrey workplaces and therapists
Alongside counselling, I work with organisations across the region. I offer mental health awareness training and wellbeing workshops of 90 minutes, four hours or a full seven-hour day, delivered at your workplace or on Zoom. An initial consultation of up to an hour is free, and each package is priced to fit what you need. You can read more on my organisations page.
I also offer clinical supervision to other counsellors and psychotherapists, online or in person, drawing on my Diploma in Therapeutic Supervision and many years of practice.
