A practice in your own town
I see clients in person at my practice in Sandhurst (GU47). For many people, that closeness makes a real difference. When you are already carrying a lot, a long journey can feel like one more obstacle between you and the help you need. Here, the time you set aside is spent on you rather than on the road.
Whether you live near the high street, in Owlsmoor, in College Town or in Little Sandhurst, you are likely to be only a few minutes away. I share the full address when we book your first session, so you know exactly where you are going before you arrive.
When counselling close to home feels right
Some people like being able to come to a session and be back in their own kitchen shortly afterwards, with a little quiet time to let things settle. Others appreciate fitting counselling around the school run or a working day without a big detour.
I also understand that seeing someone in your own town can bring its own worries, such as bumping into a neighbour. Everything we talk about is confidential, within the limits I explain at the start. If you would simply feel more at ease at home, online sessions by Zoom are always an option, and you can move between the two.
Whoever you are, you are welcome
Sandhurst has a long connection with the army. If you are part of a military family managing moves, time apart and the strain of being far from your own family and friends, you are very welcome here. So are parents, carers, people juggling demanding jobs, and women navigating menopause, something I have lived experience of myself.
Couples are welcome too, whether they want to strengthen their relationship or part as respectfully as they can. You do not need to be in crisis to come. Sometimes it is simply a sense that life has become heavier than it should be.
What we can explore together
My approach is integrative. I draw on humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive perspectives, alongside coaching and mind–body awareness, to fit the way of working to you. People come to me for many reasons, including:
- anxiety and worry that will not switch off
- low mood and depression
- stress, bereavement and loss
- relationship and couple difficulties
Getting started
Once you send an enquiry, I will arrange a free phone chat so we can see whether working together feels right. If it does, we agree a time for your first session, where we talk about what has brought you and agree how we will work. Some people commit to an initial six sessions and then review; many prefer to keep going open-ended. Individual sessions are usually weekly.
Fees and practical details
Individual sessions last 50 minutes and cost £120. Couples sessions are £140 for 50 minutes or £175 for 75 minutes. Payment is by bank transfer before each session, and fees are reviewed each April. You can find the full details on my prices page.
Please bear in mind that I am not a crisis service. If you are ever in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E. You can also call NHS 111 (option 2 for urgent mental health support) or Samaritans on 116 123, day or night.
Take the first step
If you live in or around Sandhurst and something has been weighing on you, I would be glad to hear from you. Book a free discovery call and we can talk it through, with no pressure to decide anything.
